#41 – Take a Pottery Class

#41 - Take a Pottery Class

A day after being let out of Lock-down, we reschedule a beginners pottery class at Bourn Pottery (https://www.bournpottery.co.uk) with mum for her birthday present.

This was a simply lovely Thursday evening, a nice roast dinner at the Willow Tree, followed by two hours of pottery, an insight into this quite therapeutic, beautiful hobby.

I am not made for pottery, like a bull in a china shop, however, by the end I was really into the design of the plate. I went for a simple plate, dedicated to my favourite animal the fox. Mum went for a candle plate with some cute trees on there. We were very fortunate with the couple who took part in the class with us, Alex and Mia, lovely couple, good conversation which presented a great vibe. As you can see from my bowl haha a bit wonky, the wheel was challenging, struggled being tall, but I definitely have a respect for people who really enjoy pottery and do this regularly.

Sara (the owner and our teacher) described pottery, ‘like learning how to play an instrument’ and I think this is just the best description.

Something different.

So glad I did this with mum, a great evening and fond memories made.
