#89 - Go on a Fox Experience
Ever since I was a kid watching The Animals of Farthing Wood, I loved the Red Fox. My great Grandma Lucy passed away when she was 99 years old, and I always remember seeing foxes at her apartment when we use to visit. I was given a miniature fox sculpture of this beautiful fox next to a tree trunk. The Fox became my favourite animal.
When writing my life bucket list I knew I wanted to see foxes in the wild of up close and personal but I didn’t quite know how to do this. There is a cool looking trip in Iceland to go and see the Artic foxes, but it’s not the same, I wanted to see the red fox.
I then stumbled across a Wildlife Photography, ‘British Wildlife Workshop’ at The Wildlife Centre in Surrey. This literally was a dream come true.
The best thing was of course seeing foxes. Basil and Ellis where the main two where we were taking photo’s of them. The log even looks like sculpture I have from my great Grandma Lucy. They are beautiful animals, Basil was the star of the show and it was just everything I could’ve asked for and some.
I was a little nervous this being a photography experience. I was completely wrong, John the instructor was fantastic, he helped me a lot being the novice I am, setting up the camera (I borrowed from my Uncle) and then giving some really good tips on how to achieve the best photo.
The final thing to top off the day, was all the other animals I was able to photograph. Some beautiful, beautiful animals, a lot of which would of also been on The Animals of Farthing Wood.
I would highly recommend searching high and low for anything that you would love to go and do. Even if it sounds and takes you out of your comfort zone, it’s definitely worth it.
